Data released by the government yesterday showed that the government had allocated £487,230,000 to local councils in and around Suffolk.

Our local councils are turning around applications quickly, 45,020 businesses were identified by the government and so far 40,959 payments have been made. This means that over 4,000 businesses could be eligible for grant funding.

In Suffolk £191,304,000 of grant relief funds has been allocated by the government, so far £138,745,000 has been paid out which leaves a remaining pot of just over £52 million.

Without doubt when this is allocated into the local economy it will provide much relief to some and a buffer should we see a second wave of the Coronavirus.
