From 1st April 2019 all companies were due to file their tax returns to HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs) using the digital platforms under the Making Tax Digital (MTD) arrangements.

Accountants in Suffolk have been informed that businesses with complex VAT affairs have been written to advising them that they can continue with current arrangements until October 2019.

The delay is reported to be due to resources being diverted in the event of a no deal Brexit.

Whilst for most companies, the deadline will remain the same for VAT returns being submitted digitally (1st April 2019) the addition digital filing of Corporate taxation is now expected to be launched later.
